While birding out at the coast of Queens this year I have noticed on several occasions a variety of birds, mostly finches, feeding on the seeds of Seaside Goldenrod ( Solidago sempervirens ), the salt-tolerant, butterfly-sustaining, and absolutely gorgeous coastal aster.
