Store I Love: Muji
Okay, here’s where I’m going with this: Last Saturday, I stopped by my favorite store Muji in Soho and saw these refillable dark green, square bottles for sale. $3 bucks. I decided these would become my new handwash bottles in the kitchen and bathrooms throughout the house, all filled with my favorite Method handwash soap.
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to stay at the City Club Hotel in NYC when it just opened. This was one of hotelier Jeff Klein’s first properties that celebrated the idea of less-is-more, the idea a hotel could be a pied-a-terre

Aim Lower with Excel Fibre Technology – EcoBuild Stand 1685
This is why Warmcel rates as ‘better than Zero Carbon’ according to the BRE Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM).” On stand 1685 there will be demonstrations of four individual wall structures which focus on the thermal performance and enviable environmental benefits of using Warmcel as a sustainable solution. As an industry, when discussing the energy efficiency of respective products we always look to aim higher, but when considering carbon emissions, isn’t it time to AIM LOWER? Excel Fibre Technology, manufacturers of Warmcel are posing the question - is ‘Zero Carbon’ really low enough? Excel Fibre Technology are inviting delegates to visit stand 1685 at this year’s EcoBuild to find out how they can cut carbon emissions by a further 1% by specifying Warmcel over more traditional forms of building insulation. Nigel Bosanko, Marketing Manager at Excel Fibre Technology adds, “Warmcel is actually

Steps toward a greener workplace
Pollution Prevention (P2) is a “front-end” method to decrease costs, risks, and environmental concerns. Some of the most effective methods are simple modifications in work practices and equipment. Begin by assessing your energy uses and the equipment, methods, and behavior associated with the use and take steps to lower use. Green This, Not That
Last week, I was in Toronto for a quick promotional tour on behalf of Method Home Products (I’ve been working with them for several years now as a spokesperson/consultant). Backstage at Canada AM, sort of their version of the Today Show, I’m setting up props for my segment I called “Green This, Not That.” I also showed a new Method product on-air for the very first time that just launched in Canada. 8221; The basic premise: if you can’t afford to buy all organic or eco-friendly products, here’s where you should definitely spend your money and here’s where you can save it. Thought I’d share these tips with you here.

Store Visit: Mountain Equipment CoOp
At the beginning of January, I flew up to Toronto to make a few appearances on behalf of Method to unveil our Method Laundry detergent. The product was hitting store shelves in Canada first (and it’s now rolling out in the US in stores like Lowe’s, Duane Reade, Walgreens, Wegman’s, Whole Foods and Target) and I had the opportunity to be somewhat of a Method Goodwill Ambassador to the media on this trip.
If I had to choose one word to describe Toronto, it would be this: COLD.
So my venturing into the neighborhood did not take me far, but where it

Agriculture of the Future: Japanese Plant Factories Methodically Produce Lettuce
Agriculture of the Future: Japanese Plant Factories Methodically Produce Lettuce
What do you do in a country where the average farmer is 65 and only 5% of all farmers are under 40? Make food the way we make everything else: in factories. The Ozu Corporation’s plant factories, located all across Japan, grow lettuce and green leaves all day, every day in sterile [...]

Method Lust
When we were down in North Carolina, my co-hort at Method—Rachel—and I decided to take a 2 hour drive after day full of meetings to Greensboro, NC to meet Nathan Aaron . He’s what I would EASILY called our #1 advocate for Method. He loves our products so much, he’s started a blog called MethodLust, which is totally fun to read and updated more often than Method’s own blog !
Because he’s been so great to the company, we decided to surprise him with a visit to the local Greensboro Lowe’s store to say hello, thank him and offer him an all-you-can-carry shopping spree of Method products.

How I Clean: My Method
I’ve been running around the country doing a lot of fun projects and programs for Method Care, the eco-friendly cleaning supply company. I’ve been a partner with Method for about 2 1/2 years now, although I’ve been singing their praises since—wow—2001. All the products are environmentally-friendly, they use post-consumer recycled packaging for many of their products and the company is Cradle-to-Cradle certified.
If you’re not familiar with Method, you should definitely check out the whole line at www.methodhome.com or in stores where it’s sold, like Lowe’s, Whole Foods, Target and Wegman’s Supermarkets.

Win! New Method Laundry Detergent
That has been my mantra the past 6 months working with Method on our brand new, top-secret, super duper revolutionary product launch. But the quiet period is over and it’s here: METHOD LAUNDRY .
I’m so excited about this product (and the fact I can finally unveil it here), that I’m giving one lucky Daily Danny reader both a 25 and 50 load Method Laundry bottle to have and try at home. Shhhhhhhhhh! Hush!

New from Method: Dilutable Cleaner
So, it’s no surprise that I’m equally as enthusiastic for Method’s new Dilutable Cleaner , a super-concentrated all-purpose cleaner that you—wait for it—just add water to to clean all over the house. With thousands of square feet of floors in my house—faux bois stamped ceramic, recycled wood floors, hand poured stone—-I need a big bucket and a handy mop once in a while to clean-up all the built up dirt and debris that has collected.
