Autumn Timber Care & Gardening Tips from Forest
Remember to check that your tools are in good working order and store them away for when you next need them. Heap on plenty of ‘brown’ materials (such as dead leaves and plants, straw or sawdust) and layer with ‘greens’ (grass cuttings and any vegetable kitchen waste). Autumn is a good time to work on your fence.

Community Gardens
Home made huts, greenhouses and polytunnels were dotted around the allocated sites and everyone on the allotments were on hand to give tips and advice in the art of vegetable and fruit growing to their neighbours. Being close to the houses meant that the gardeners only needed a wheelbarrow for their tools and picked products.
