So we must not be surprised if commercial and military influences, and conservative ruling groups currently still active in our society set themselves against any contemplative movement even today. There has also been a growth of interest in religion, which has taken the shape of reviving dormant meditative traditions (e.g., 270 A.D.),

The new genus is unrelated to any other of the 170 plus palms of Madagascar and is most closely related to 3 genera: one each in Afghanistan and neighboring parts of Asia; south Thailand; and Vietnam and southern China.
