Faith leaders hold no-fly Climate Summit
by Michael Smith (Veshengro) From Copenhagen's gigantic carbon footprint to Al Gore's emissions during his travels all around the globe in order to hold his lectures there is no shortage of people complaining about the carbon emitted by those who want to cut carbon. Here at the GREEN (LIVING) REVIEW I have said the very same as to the COP15 meeting in Copenhagen. There are some, however, who are trying to keep this in check. A

Copenhagen’s (COP15) Amazing Green Art
Paramount Pictures will present An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore at the Hotel FOX at 5 and 7 p.m No successful movement works without important art. Where would the hippies have been without their unique (ehm, hallucinogenic) posters, 2nd wave feminism without all those novels and creative nonfiction writings, the Vietnam protests without the music, or Civil Rights without heart-wrenching photography? Not only did these

With UK Climate Research Unit is hacked experts say great reason for secure collaborative working
The big question, the Cyber-Ark director noted, is why the University's CRU hadn't installed some form of security on the potentially explosive data held on its servers. And, he explained, with references to the US government's apparently negative stance on climate warming - which former vice president Al Gore has been trying to publicise for years - the data leak could cause severe ructions on Capitol Hill. "Once the political fall-out from this data breach incident has settled, questions will undoubtedly be asked by those in charge about why better IT security systems weren't installed

Al Gore: New thinking on the climate crisis
About this Talk In Al Gore 's brand-new slideshow (premiering exclusively on TED.com), he presents evidence that the pace of climate change may be even worse than scientists were recently predicting, and challenges us to act with a sense of "generational mission" -- the kind of feeling that brought forth the civil rights movement -- to set it right. Gore's stirring presentation is followed by a brief Q&A in which he is asked for his verdict on the current political candidates' climate policies and on what role he himself might play in future. Got Environmental Issues? The Next Generation’s On It with Solutions-Oriented Projects Galore
Aitan’s favorites are Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection and the World Wildlife Fun Almost two years ago, I wrote about how the next generation was going to be pissed off at us for our environmental negligence and overall lack of action-taking on climate change and species extinction. Well, I was wrong.

Age of Stupid - the reason we must act
Posted by James Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth helped to promote environmental awareness around the globe. The Age of Stupid , which premiered today, will instead challenge each of us to act and to be Not Stupid. Al Gore video
This appears to be a mini sequel to "An Inconvenient Truth". More 'I wuz robbed' gags and practical steps, less of the schmaltz. Not so sure about the appropriateness of the Beamer ad at the start and the en

Blair does a Gore
Al Gore spent the Kyoto negotiations sticking spokes in the wheels. Tags: climate change blair al gore politic Now he's the champion of the world. Tony Blair did nothing for the UK's carbon emissions while in office, now he's gonna save the world . Funny how history repeats itself, isn't it?

Celebrity Eco-ographies: All aboard
Diaz has been an outspoken advocate for sustainable living for many years, most notably supporting Al Gore in his efforts while promoting “An Inconvenient Truth” and to introduce the SOS (Save Our Selves) campaign for a climate in crisis. Standing in line at Whole Foods this morning, I noticed Cameron Diaz gracing the cover of Vogue as June’s queen of green in the publications’ green issue. Most recently, Ms.

Al Gore: One Man and his Powerpoint
The film consists of clips of Gore's famous presentation on climate change interspersed with flashbacks to ex-next-president's life, from his farm upbringing to the hanging chads in 2000. Gore's father grew tobacco on his farm and continued to do so despite the 60s & 70s furore over the link with cancer. Then Gore's sister Nancy died of lung cancer. I went to see 'An Inconvenient Truth' last night. The former sections are powerful, persuasive and chilling, the latter sentimental, going on mawkish.

Live Earth - Eh?
Last night I sat down and watched a bit of Al Gore's Live Earth concerts and, when not distracted by the Pussycat Doll's gyrations, was left a bit baffled about the whole thing. Tags: live earth climate change al gor Lot's have people have said "Why should we listen to what all these rich rock stars jetting their way around the world, burning masses of energy in huge concerts have to say about climate change?". Well we didn't ask the same about rich rock stars and Live Aid/Live 8, so why are we so cynical about this one?
